So, I’m on a mission to improve my skincare regimen. Not only am I lazy, I’m broke but from time to time I go to Lush and try a mask to handle what I think my skin needs. Before, during, and after my period is when I tend to experience acne, it’s not something I’m super used to dealing with. But, I’ve decided to try to help pamper my skin during my time of the month. During one of my latest bouts into skincare I picked up the Cosmetic Catastrophe mask at Lush.
Lucky for me (not) I had a small minor break out on my lower chin as I typically do during my cycle. So this mask (which is meant to combat acne) was a perfect fit for the time.
The mask dries super quickly. I don’t want to say harden because although it does harden a bit it powders more than it cracks. So, be prepared for it to get on your shirt and counter top. This mask smells amazing however. It has little pieces of blueberry in it and it feels super refreshing. When you take the mask off your skin may feel a little dry or powdery (I don’t know if that’s the right description. But, just make sure you get all of it off your face and you’ll be fine in the morning.
However, I don’t know if it was the mask, wishful thinking, or my hormones evening out but my break out was gone in the morning. So I guess it worked. I’d definitely buy this product again. I used the mask again when I had another angry pimple pop up on my forehead. This acne was more aggressive but I do think consistently using the mask helped calm it down.
What’s your skin care routine? Do you have a favorite mask?
I have been trying to find a mask from Lush for the longest, I am definitely going to check this one out. I love their tea tree oil and dark angels product.

I just started using the Aztec Clay Mask and I love it. Other than that I use Black Soap and since using it my skin has been clear and blemish free.

I’ve heard great things about black soap but my skin can get dry so I have to avoid it

My favorite mask from Lush is Love Lettuce. It exfoliates and dries blemishes without stripping the skin. I also swear by sheey masks.

I love Lush’s masks because they use natural, non harsh ingredients. This one looks interesting and I may try it next time. I handmake most of my masks using avocado and honey.

I LOVE Lush Masks. I love the Cup O Coffee one. My favorite mask for acne is the Glam Glow Mask, the one in the white container. That mess sucks the life out of my pimples in one swoop, but it’s so expensive. I might have to try this one though!

I have been hesitant to try these mainly because when I get to the register when my bath bombs I’ve already spent wayyy too much lol. Right now I have been into cream cleansers as my skin started to get really dry during fall/winter. Ive been loving the glo skin beauty cleanser. I usually tone then follow with facial oil. My fav mask is the shea moisture rose one.

Like you I always get that one, that one pimple that emerges during my time. It’s a pain. I will have to try this because if I can get it gone that quickly I will spend whatever amount for it.

I have never had much luck with lush masks but this is one I have not tried out yet. I may just have to give it a go, like you I suffer with hormonal acne breakouts. My skincare routine is pretty extensive but I’m a big junkie for the stuff lol

What a funtastic Mask Monday 🙂 I, too, am way lazy when it comes to having any detailed skin regimens. I like to wash and go! Sounds like this mask does the trick on your skin – YAY! Take away the monthly breakouts!

I love the name of the mask. So appropriate 🙂 My daughter breaks out too when it’s her time of the month so I think I’ll spoil her a little and see if I can get her some Cosmetic Catastrophe

I don’t use masks often but I just came back from a Halloween blogger event. The swag bag for bloggers had several different masks that I can’t wait to try. I’ll keep you posted if anything is worth recommending!

I’m really fussy with Lush products, their bath stuff is too fragrenced for me but I like the sound of the mask! I really like that is has blueberries IN it, how cool is that?! How long can this product be kept and does it need to be stored in the fridge? I know Lush usually comes with a usage date label somewhere. I may have to look into this one as my skin is acting up and I’m really naughty and neglectful of my skincare routine!

It usually lasts 2-3 weeks which isn’t bad for the size of the product and yea it should be refrigerated because of the fresh ingredients!

We love Lush products in our home. We’ve only used the bath bombs (which keeps the linen closet smelling sooo good!!!). I would love to try their face mask!

Oh girl if you’re broke, you can just DIY with stuff you probably already have at home such as honey and brown sugar. Try it 🙂

Believe it or not, I’m someone who has never tried a mask! I’m thinking my skin might be in better shape now, as I approach 60, if I had a better skin routine in place and had used a mask long before now.

I love lush! And I feel exactly the same about the mask I bought from them lol. It sort of worked (I think) but it may have been hormones balancing out.. Either way, I’d purchase the mask again because it just feels really nice after putting it on. I got the mask of magnaminty x
