I Started Journaling

So, my brain is basically just a wasteland of random information that really isn’t organized in any way at all. It actually makes keeping track of things or stay focused throughout the day. I write down anything, things for my blog, goals, ideas of fun things to do, ways to improve my day. And since I’ve been able to get my thoughts out my mood has improved, I’m less tired, and I think I’m more productive and creative at work as well.

I picked mine up for $4.99 at TJ Maxx last summer and I never used it. However, this summer something in me just decided to write everything down. As soon as an idea hits me I write it in my journal. I think writing it down is better than using the notes on your phone only because there are so many distractions inside of your phone. You might open it to journal and now you’re scrolling on Twitter and forgot everything you wanted to write down.

Do you journal? Has it helped you clear your head? Let me know below.

  1. Love this. I do try to journal. And I never do it on the phone. Unfortunately what I do end up doing is writing stuff all over the place, in any number of notebooks and sketchpads lying around. Even on random sheets of paper. I’ve tried everything I can think of to get more organized about it. But then again… at least I’m writing it somewhere… what ever it takes…
    Thanks! Cute, helpful post!

  2. Idk. I use to keep a ton of journals when I was younger, but now that I’m older I really think my Instagram has become my online diary. Every time I go to appointments I can always find a date for when things have happened. Social media has made it a lot easier. But an actual journal would be nice.

      1. Twitter sucks for me badly. I have like 200 followers. Nothing is ever read 😦

Instagram I’ve reached over 1,000. I think IG has been a god send. It’s has my pictures, dates and times. It helps me when I see doctors. But it was too clustered with my online reviews of beauty. Hence my reason for starting my blog. I wanted a whole section dedicated to my struggles with lupus and all things health. I’m hoping it goes well. I have a story to be told and I want to help others who are struggling like me.

  3. I do journal, and it’s such a great tool! I do what I call a “brain dump”. I don’t try to make any sense, just write everything that comes into my head. Really therapeutic! 🌷

Journaling is a great way to keep track of ideas and let go of things! Everyone should do it and it is one of the first things that might be suggested by a counselor. Great post

I have a lot of notes in my phone but definitely, love journals, I find if I write down an idea to save it for later then I can move on or get back to what I need to be doing in the moment and at least I don’t have to worry that I forgot it!

  6. I actually have a “blog journal” where I have certain thoughts that aren’t so private that I’d want to eventually turn into a post I’ve found that to be helpful. But previous journal has actually turned into a blog post or two before.

I used to journal….a LOT….through my teens and early 20’s. I stopped when life got too “busy” for my downtime. I need to pick it back up so that I can clear out all the randomness in my head! Great post

Journaling is a healthy outlet it keeps me balanced. I’ve been Journaling since I learned how to write. Maybe that’s why I’m so patient. I have notebooks upon notebooks. Whenever friends tell me that they’re stressed and the world is crashing down I tell them to write it out.
